Starting at Blackheath Station and finishing at Mount Victoria, the walk involves hiking out of town to an awe-inspiring lookout, before dropping down into the depths of the Grose Valley.
The route down to Acacia Flats is tight and steep dirt trail - a great leg workout before arriving into the stunning campground.
We'll spend the first night on the Grose River, nestled into tents by the water's edge at Acacia Flats. The site has bush toilets and is accessible only on foot. The wind rustling in the towering blue gums and the river burbling past will lull you to sleep after dinner and a fire.
The views from the ridgeline approaching Perry's Lookdown are incredible, even stretching to the Sydney skyline on a clear day. There are several scenic de-tours you'll take that are worth every step.
Enjoy tracing the journey of the river through the Grose Valley past Pierce's Pass. The lush trail winds up and down along the banks, showing ever-changing views of the surrounding cliff faces. You're truly immersed in nature in the heart of the valley for the entire day.
Victoria Falls is a wonder of nature. When the dense undergrowth parts for this marvelous sight your blood will be racing from standing so close to the thundering water.
The last day step of this expedition is to hike into Mount Victoria to catch the train back to Blackheath where we started.
